Shrewsbury, Massachusetts – After being the first outdoor ski area in North America to have lift-serviced skiing for the 2024-25 season, Ski Ward is going for an encore.

Yesterday, Ski Ward announced that it will reopen tomorrow for another day of skiing and riding. This follows Ski Ward opening for skiing and riding last weekend. Their magic carpet lift will service the Dream Maker trail from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Ski Ward hasn’t decided yet whether there will be any rails set up. Lift tickets are only $5 for a ninety-minute session and can be purchased online. They will also have fall tubing and a haunted maze open on Saturday.

If you’re wondering how such a scenario is possible after a warm week in Massachusetts, Ski Ward has a cutting-edge snowmaking system called the Latitude 90. Here’s a description of the Ski Ward’s Latitude 90 snowmaking system:

“Waiting on cold temps?  Not anymore.  All-weather snowmaking can kickstart your season, producing snow in temperatures above traditional snowmaking equipment.

With three models to choose from, the L30, L60 [the model that Ski Ward uses], and L120 are enclosed, independent snowmaking systems that withstand ambient temperatures, winds, and humidity and perfectly complement your traditional snow guns.

Latitude90 features a patented rotor to adjust flake size.  Create a larger flake size to reduce melt, or create a smaller flake for higher snow quality.

The equipment is also fully automated.  Start your machine with your mobile device, or via your SmartSnow computer.

Finally, the Latitude90 machines are built to run 24/7, so press start and let it work it’s magic!”

Ski Ward will reopen on November 1st for lessons. On November 2nd, they’ll be hosting an evening rail jam.
