Gore Mountain Making Progress On New Chairlift & Base Lodge

North Creek, New York — The New York ski resort that’s getting the most significant upgrade for this upcoming ski season is Gore Mountain.

The state-run ski resort is revitalizing the North Creek Ski Bowl terrain pod. Previously, it was a separate ski area, but it was closed for decades. However, it reopened for snow tubing in 2003 and skiing and riding in 2007.

The North Creek Ski Bowl has been serviced by the Village Chair, which gives access to beginner terrain, and the Hudson Chair, which connects to the rest of the mountain. The Hudson Chair is a relatively slow fixed-grip triple that takes a while to reach the top, so many avoided this area. This offseason, the Hudson Chair is being replaced by a new detachable high-speed quad chairlift. In addition, a new 18,300-square-foot base lodge and summer zip coaster attraction will open in 2025.

The groundbreaking for these projects took place on May 20th. The event featured appearances from high-ranking officials like New York State Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado.

In Gore’s latest construction update, they showed that the old Hudson lift towers have been removed, and the parts of the new chairlift are on site. The lodge’s construction is still in its early stages, with the steel pillars being installed via crane.

The new Hudson chair is expected to open during the 2024-25 season, and the new base lodge is expected to be completed in the fall of 2025. In the meantime, the existing Ski Bowl Lodge will remain open.
