Kelowna, British Columbia Being a ski patroller in Western Canada is a complex gig. There’s the traditional ski patrol tasks, like assisting injured guests. Then there’s safety mitigation, like creating avalanches to make sure the terrain is safe to ride. A new short film dives into these tasks in an enjoyable fashion.

Last week, Big White released a short film that documents the daily routine of ski patrollers at the British Columbian ski resort.

In A Day in the Life Of Patrol, Big White details the daily tasks that ski patrol does to keep the ski resort open and safe. The video shows the morning briefing, initial trail inspections, avalanche mitigation, helping out injured guests, what their facilities are like, and what they do close the mountain.

The film will make you appreciate what ski patrol does to keep people safe, and may even make you want to become a patroller.
