Killington, Vermont – After being in the lead following the first run and a great start to her second run, Mikaela Shiffrin crashed into the b-netting in the Giant Slalom World Cup event at Killington Resort.
Shiffrin was assessed on the slope, and was taken down by toboggan. Mikaela was the final racer of the second run, with the winner of today’s GS being Sweeden’s Sara Hector.
A few hours after the crash, Mikaela Shiffrin shared a video update of her status. She was reportedly stabbed by something during the crash sequence, resulting in an abrasion. While it’s not “cause for concern,” she won’t participate in tomorrow’s Slalom World Cup event.
We’ll keep you posted on any updates regarding Shiffrin’s status going forward.
