Cardrona, New Zealand — Ski season on the South Island is officially underway. Cardrona, Mt. Hutt, and The Remarkables opened for the season on June 15th, thanks to recent snowmaking and fresh snowfall.

Conditions at Cardrona look pretty decent for early-season skiing and riding. Cardrona currently has the McDougall’s Chondola and Learning Conveyers spinning. Limited terrain is open off McDougall’s. They also have six terrain park features currently on the slopes: four on Learner’s and two on McPark.

According to MountainWatch, Cardrona’s offseason projects included renovating the Rental facility, adding a new tuning shop, increasing its snowmaking capacity, adding 200 parking spots in Valley View’s base area, and beginning work on the Soho expansion, which will open in 2025. You can learn more about the Soho expansion here.
